In appreciation and support of our police and in recognition of the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel, SS Philip & James students presented members of the SCPD 4th Pct. with individual Survival Kits. Parents of students in law enforcement also attended the presentation and were presented with kits by their children. Each class was asked to bring in an assigned candy for this project. Each kit included: Life Savers: To remind them of the many times they have been one; Smarties: To give them wisdom for those split-second decisions; Starbursts: For the burst of energy they need; Gum: To help everyone stick together; Tootsie Rolls: To help them roll with the punches; Peppermint Patties: To help them keep their cool; Dum Dums: Because they deal with a lot of them; and Hershey Kisses: To show our love for them. After the ceremony, members of the 4th Pct. went into Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 to greet the children and had coloring books for them.
