Our Lady of Providence Teacher and Student Donate Hair
Posted on 12/18/2015

On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Our Lady of Providence teacher, Mrs. Barbara Garcia, teacher, and Catherine Umanzor, eighth grade student, cut and donated their hair to CWHL (Children With Hair Loss).  CWHL was created as a resource for all children who have medically-related hair loss. It is their mission to empower these children to become whole again by making hair replacement available to those who may be financially challenged and might otherwise not have a means of obtaining the hair they want and need.

Mrs. Francis Gomez, one of our parents and a hairstylist, came up to school to make the cut.  Mrs. Garcia’s and Catherine’s hair was tied with a hairband and cut.  Each of them is donating about a 10-12 inch ponytail.  Mrs. Gomez cut and styled their hair in front of the students, faculty, and parents.  The school community is so proud of them.
